At the time of its establishment, the Seiko timepiece business was a small watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" located in Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, Hattori began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha, meaning "House of Exquisite Workmanship" and later shortened the name to Seiko.
The Seiko brand soon began producing wrist watches in 1924. Seiko has revolutionized the watch industry by producing many firsts, including the first quartz wristwatch, known as the ASTRON, the chronograph quartz, and a kinetic piece that uses a capacitor to store energy via the power of one’s movement.
Seiko produces its watches, including its signature Seiko automatic movement pieces, entirely in-house, down to the screws and oils. Each Seiko timepiece incorporates modern technology and innovation to reflect quality, long-lasting, and durable craftsmanship that stands the test of time. At TimeScape we specialize in carrying this trusted brand, including service maintenance and repair of the entire Seiko line. Explore our selection today.
