Seiko Astron "Morning Sky" 2024 Limited Edition GPS Solar Collection

The Seiko Astron Morning Star GPS Solar models

Introducing the new Seiko Astron Morning Star GPS Solar limited edition series with dials inspired by the early morning sky. The purple gradient dial with gold flecked accents are reminiscent of the sunlight that just starts to pierce the night sky in the early morning hours just before dawn. Both new Seiko Astron Morning Star models are available as 1,200-piece limited editions. They feature a black PVD coated light-weight titanium case with Astron's characteristic super-hard protective finish with either a traditional circular or octagonal bezel. The crystals are an anti-reflective sapphire, and each model is water resistant to 100 meters. Additionally, each watch offers solar battery-charging capability and uses automatic hands adjustment with a GPS signal reception to aid time-zone location. Even if no signal is received, the accuracy is still rather impressive at ±15 seconds per month. As far as power reserve, the watches operate for up to six months on a full charge and saves all settings for up to two years when not in use.

The Astron Morning Star SSH145

The first Astron Morning Star model is reference SSH145 which packs alot of complications in its 42.7mm case. This watch uses Seiko’s in-house 5X53 caliber, which offers many functions including a perpetual calendar that will run correctly until the year 2100. In addition, thirty-nine UTC world time zones codes are displayed in gold on the black bezel. You have the capacity of a time transfer function, with the user being able to switch between two time-zones from the main display hands and those in the sub-dial at 6 o'clock with the chrono pushers. This is useful for frequent travelers to swap quickly between home and your destination time zone. The watch also has a chronograph complication, a power reserve indicator, signal reception, and sub-day and date window with small 24-hr sub-dial. The intricate design and attention to detail with all the many functions offered make it a standout piece in any collection.

The Astron SSJ021

Reference SSJ021 is part of the 3X series of the Seiko Astron watches with a unique angular and faceted octagonal bezel shape. As such, it uses the 3X62 caliber, which is a simpler movement than the previous 5X53. There’s no chronograph and, therefore, fewer sub-dials. The display is much cleaner, and somewhat smaller and thinner with a 41.2mm case and 12mm thickness. There’s still a fine level of functionality, though, as a perpetual calendar is included along with GPS signal reception. A power reserve indicator and date display are also visible. Both models in the "Morning Star" collection do feature a mix of silver and gold-tone lumibrite stick markers that stand-out and reflect brilliantly within the purple flecked dials. Each piece is fitted with a gold-tone accented crown and black PVD coated brushed and polished light-weight titanium integrated bracelet. Limited to just 1200 pieces with engraved serial number on the case-back and available in March 2024, with a 2-year Manufacturers warranty.
